Green, J. (2006). An abundance of Katherines. New York: Dutton Books.Reading level: 890L

Yeah, I had no choice; I had to read this book. They even spelled Katherine the right way! Overgrown prodigy Colin is obsessed with Katherines (who can blame him?). He’s dated 19 so far, and is currently crushed over #19, who dumped him right after graduation. In an attempt to save Colin from his own mopey misery, best friend Hassan drags him onto the road in search of adventure and answers. Rather straightaway, they find themselves living with tour guide Lindsey and her mother in Gutshot, TN and both employed at the local tampon string factory. Over the course of the book, Colin develops The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Probability. A fun read that eventually reaffirm’s Colin’s place among others, instead of separated by superiority.
